Why Smarter Beats Cheaper in SEA Business Travel
Corporate travel management is shifting beyond booking speed and fare price toward addressing post-booking complexities. According to SAP Concur’s Southeast Asia Business Travel Pulse Survey of 153 travel decision-makers across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, organisations now face challenges not in booking but in managing disruptions afterward. The travel manager’s role has evolved from securing tickets to handling operational complexity. Over half (51%) of respondents identified managing last-minute changes and cancellations as their main challenge, surpassing concerns about high costs (38.6%) and policy compliance (21.6%). The ease of transactions now gives way to managing friction during the journey.
